Pike Permit

Friday 27th June 2008
We will be starting the new permits from September 08. you will be given a permit with a number on it when you have completed one hr approx with one of the P.A.A. Scotland Angling coaches.
When you have this permit you will then be allowed to purchase day permits If you dont the post office will not issue you with a permit.
The Castle was almost closed down prior to Martin and I taking it over due to poor angling practice. This is just a continuation of improving your fishing on the castle. No one likes to see dead pike or fish in poor condition so we are taking steps to stop this now.
We have the full support of Scottish Federation of Coarse Anglers, The Pike Anglers Alliance Scotland, and The Professional Anglers Association England /Scotland on this.
As prevously stated no permit no fishing we will be enfourcing this rule vigerously so please help us with this.

Catch Report

Friday 27th June 2008
At last I have started to get some info from anglers fishing so we now have a catch report for you. Bream fishing is still hit or miss some good fish out. Tench fishing this season has been great 9lb 13 out last week most coming out to maggot or flavoured corn.
Pike, well some good fishing so far if you are piking at this time of the year please give the fish plenty of time to recover before you let them go.

thanks.......

New Season Permit Rules

Saturday 5th April 2008
From April all season permit holders will be required to renew permits within two weeks of expiry date .We are limiting permits to only 40 also. Some permit holders are allowing their ticket to go for 3 to 4 months before renewing, this is clearly not on. As from now if your permit expires to get it renewed you will have to pay a £25 joining fee (if a place is still available.) We feel this is fair to all concerned.
