March

Postby martin » Tue Mar 02, 2010 1:21 am

At last two pike lads out today did not get a report from them,
its now spring time so I hope the big girls will be out to feed soon, :D

Just a word of caution the local neds have been playing up and there has been an increased police presence on the fishery, please make sure you have your permits with you as we have instructed police to confiscate tackle and remove permit-less offenders.

Fished the island Saturday 6th March to Sunday dinner with a mate from Manchester.
The sport was fairly slow with long periods of inactivity. We did manage 9 fish between us but the size was very small. The biggest went 7lb but the majority were probobly 2lb or so.
All fish however were in good condition. The water temperature was still very cold 4degrees or less.
be it on the meat or be it on the maggott!

Hi All,
Fished all day sunday from the barrells on the sewer bank. 7 fish in total but all small jacks to about 4lb. Conditions were perfect yet the water was still very very cold.
I shall be trying again this Saturday!!

Cheers

Fished again today on the sewer bank.

At last got fishing yesterday. Fished the island with Dave, 2 fish caught biggest a scraper double but both fish carrying spawn. Lots of finicky dropped takes,
pike could be getting ready for a bit jiggy jiggy shortly???

fished the sewer bank from friday to sunday with my dad, we had a total of 9 fish between us.

couple of bigger jacks to about 8 pound, with the rest being jacks of about 3-5 pound,
had the biggest of about 15-17 pound on saturday night about 8:30pm.

all the fish seemed to be very bulky, or heavy with spawn.

good to meet a few of you's.

but there was some propper loud buggers on the sewer bank on friday and sat night.
got !!!! all sleep.
every one seemed to be getting pissed up.
