I think its important to distinguish what type of holiday you lads want. There are 2 very different styles of fishing for the cats on the ebro.
Pellet fishing : Mequinenza , basicly you go with a gude to a designated spot , usualy prebaited for you , row out in a boat , drop the days feed in with your bait in amongst it , and wait for a big old pellet bellied cat to come along , snaffle up the pellets and your bait and drag it in for a foto . Not my cup of tea , but , it is the most sure way of getting a cat , but not the best way of getting a 100lber. It is quite common to only get kittens.
It is also the best chance of getting carp aswel.
Predator fishing : Amposta and lower ebro. This is what I did , it is a lot less productive , but you have a much better chance of a monster. Live baiting with carp , eels and mullet , drifting with the flow , getting into hidden corners where the big moggies hide out. The week after I had my 2 , the guide I went with had 2 lads out who got the lower ebro record which was 198lb!! It snapped 2 rods in the process!!
This is who I went with
